The key to moving out of the Dream Zone is to make a decision and take small steps forward. Define what kind of lifestyle business you want to create, based on your passions, values, and happiness.

Symptoms of being in the Dream Zone include confusion, lack of clarity, fear of change, feeling pressure from others, and being overwhelmed by technology and social media possibilities. At this stage, tangible stats may show that you have made zero dollars in your business.

Zone 2: The Launch Zone
The Launch Zone represents the stage where you’ve put in a lot of work to start your business but haven’t achieved the desired results yet. It’s comparable to a scrubbed rocket launch that doesn’t go as planned. However, it’s important to remember that failure is not a definitive outcome. Learn from your experiences and make improvements. Thomas Edison once said, “I have not failed 10,000 times—I’ve successfully found 10,000 ways that will not work.” Keep refining your approach, marketing strategy, and product/service to increase your chances of success.

Symptoms of being in the Launch Zone include minimal sales or no response, feeling like you wasted money, losing the enjoyment of selling your products/services, and comparing yourself to overnight success stories. Persistence and a growth mindset are crucial during this stage. While tangible results may be sporadic, you’re still on the path toward progress.

Zone 3 = The Bumpy Road Zone

In the Bumpy Road Zone, your business is up and running, and you’re starting to see some income. It’s like driving a jeep through rough terrain, facing obstacles but building confidence along the way. This stage involves refining your business, making adjustments, and delegating tasks. Seek opportunities to grow your customer base and build a support system of mentors, service providers, and customers who believe in your vision.

While you may feel a mix of excitement and exhaustion during the Bumpy Road Zone, it’s crucial to address potential burnout and refine your processes. Balancing work and personal life becomes essential, and innovation plays a role in sustaining growth. Tangible results may include generating around $700 per month in your business, although it may not be consistent yet.


Zone 4 = The Stalled Growth Zone

The Stalled Growth Zone can be a frustrating phase where your business hits a plateau. Revenue growth stagnates, and you might feel stuck and uncertain about your next steps. It’s important to analyze your business strategy, market conditions, and customer feedback to identify roadblocks. Adjustments, changes in direction, or trying new approaches can reignite growth. Seek advice from mentors or business coaches to gain fresh perspectives.

Symptoms of being in the Stalled Growth Zone include plateaued revenue, feeling stuck, and a lack of innovation. It’s important to stay positive, focus on your goals, and push forward, even when facing challenges. Remember that growth requires resilience and adaptability.



Zone 5 = Enjoying The Ride Zone

The Enjoying the Ride Zone represents the stage where your business is flourishing, and you’re experiencing consistent growth and profitability. It’s like driving on an open highway, cruising smoothly toward your destination. At this stage, continue to innovate, provide value to your customers, and explore new opportunities. Maintain a balance between work and personal life to ensure long-term success and fulfillment.

In the Enjoying the Ride Zone, you’ll likely have a stable income, a strong customer base, and the freedom to pursue other passions or projects. Tangible results may include generating $5,000 per month or more consistently, while intangible rewards include a sense of purpose, fulfillment, and joy.

  5. What tasks and activities do you engage in daily within your business?

  9. Where do you envision yourself working from?
  10. Describe your ideal workday.
  11. What activities do you engage in on your ideal workday?
  12. Describe your ideal day off.
  13. What activities do you enjoy on your ideal play day?

As you document your thoughts, don’t hesitate to dream big and let your imagination soar. For now, practicalities and feasibility take a backseat. The goal is to paint a vivid picture of your ideal business and ideal day.
